As of 13 January we have the bookings needed to confirm that this trip will happen, so if you are interested start to buy your tickets and let us know what your itineraries will be.

This year again

Same as last year we are organizing the trip to Bali, but this time we have announced it earlier, and now we have enough participants to run the trip this time. All prices are the unchanged, however the earlier we book our airline tickets, the better. Also we recommend to use the comment box below this post to communicate with each other.

The Trip

Bali April 2012Adventure loving divers, we have the pleasure to invite you for a special diving trip to Bali, Indonesia. This trip is special not only because of the beautiful destination, Bali, but also because we organize it at the time when very few want to stay in Thailand, during the crazy Songkran (Thai New Year) time - from 12th of April till 20th of April. The location of our stay will be Candidasa which is a quiet place on South-East coat of the island, near all the best dive sites. Our bungalow hotel, Ida Beach Village is located directly on the beach. Have a look to the right. There are 12 dives planned during the six days.

Things included in the trip and possible top ups

Bali 2012 April BungalowThe trip price includes the accommodation in two bed Balinese style bungalows for 8 nights (including breakfast) and 12 dives. If you wish stay alone in a bungalow please advise us about it. In this case you will pay extra USD 35 per night, payable on site. The transfer from the airport is included too. It is possible to do more diving if you wish. Each additional dive costs USD 35 payable on site. There is a possibility of a special dive trip to manta point on the South of Nusa Penida. A minimum of 4 persons is required to make this particular special trip. You may exchange two of your normal (local) dives plus an additional USD 90, or the price is USD 160, leaving your 12 dives package untouched, and includes the two additional dives, lunch and transfers, payable on site. The dive sites we are going to use are: Tepe Kong, Biaha, White Sand Beach, Gili Selang, Tulamben, Amed If you wish to bring a non diver companion along or if you are a non diver who would like to join the trip, the correct options are below.

USS LibertyDiving in Bali is beautiful. At the same time its a bit more difficult than in Thailand or Red Sea in Egypt. The currents are stronger and present on most of the dives. With the exception of the U.S.S. Liberty Shipwreck and couple other dive sites it is strongly recommended that you have some dive experience and/or Advanced Open Water certification. If not, you may complete the PADI Advanced Open Water course with us prior to the trip. MantaFor the trip you will need to have your own equipment. If you do not own any, you may rent it from us at 600 Baht/day, but you will need to pick it up on the day before the departure - on 11th April, in Pattaya. You don't want me to carry equipment for every diver, right? 🙂 A dive computer is a must. Most all the dives are deep and long with the possibility of three dives a day. You would not enjoy them using dive tables. The recommended wetsuit is a 5 mm full length wetsuit. Don't forget your gloves at home!

Other programs

RaftingThere is not much time for the divers, but it's possible to sign up for some very interesting activities as well. For the accompanying persons, there are many interesting things that will keep them busy while the others are blowing bubbles. Just few to mention:
  • wild water rafting
  • volcano climbing
  • visits to different temples and sanctuaries
  • shopping in Kuta
  • reptile and bird park
There are many possibilities. Talk to us about them.

Local info

Map_of_BaliVisa: you get visa on arrival at the airport in Denpassar (capital of Bali - DPS). Very few countries citizens must apply for visa at the embassy prior to trip, but please check for yourself. The fee is USD 25 payable at the airport and is valid for 30 days. Make sure that your passport is valid for at least six month more after the entry date. Money exchange / Credit cards: you can exchange money at many money exchange boots. You will get approx. 9.000 Indonesian Rupiah for USD 1,00. It means you can be millionaire very easily, but you must always check the huge amount of bills before leaving the counter. The credit cards are widely accepted. You can withdraw different amounts from different ATMs. It's recommended to bring some cash with you in USD or Euro, because the ATMs are not on each corner like in Pattaya 🙂 Weather: April is the time after the raining season in Bali, so we don't expect any rains but in the tropics you never know, be ready. The temperature is around 32-34 centigrade and the water temperature around 26 centigrade however there are also thermoclines which may cause water temperatures to drop locally close to 20 centigrade. Time zone: GMT+8 (one hour more than in Thailand)

For the convenience of choice and possible different locations where you may start you journey from we are not booking plane tickets. Our recommendation here in Asia is to fly with AirAsia. If you fly from Bangkok with us, than you have a direct flight. The ticket price is around USD 300. I placed here on the right a snippet from AirAsia online booking site. The ticket price is always changing, usually gets more expensive the closer to departure time. The snippet on the right it's just an example, the travel dates are: 12 Apr - 20 Apr If you wish to use other airlines, feel free to do so, just inform us about your flight numbers and arrival/departure times so we can arrange the airport transfer for you on Bali. Before you book your ticket please read the traveling terms and conditions below.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. The minimum number of participants (divers) is 8 persons. In the case we don't get 8 bookings by 12th of March 2012 we will have to cancel the trip and we will return your money.
  2. Because of the conditions in point #1 we do not recommend to book your flight until you receive a confirmation email from us saying that the minimum number of participants has been reached. We can't refund your airplane ticket! We will notify you at latest on 12th of March, but hopefully before.
  3. Any cancellation after 12th of March will be not refunded! Exception: proven very extreme health condition.
  4. It is your responsibility to submit to us your phone number and valid email address, so we can contact you. You must submit a copy of your flight itinerary to us as well.

We wish you a very nice time and great diving on Bali. Don't wait any more, just scroll down and book your trip. You may pay by PayPal or any credit card via secure PayPal payment platform. If you book on line here you get a 5% discount.   If you have any questions please contact us by email or just by commenting on this post below. Thank you.

According the rerbreather, we found a place which is diving on them, however we are still in negotiations about the possibility of their support even if we do not dive with them directly.
      Will update on it soon.
